12 October 2005Angel at Zero 6Featuring the original members of the band from 1974 For the first time in thirty one years Angel will be performing one live gig which is scheduled to be held in Southend on Sea. It will be at Club EGO, the venue previously known as Zero 6, and will be hosted by 70s DJ Brian Ayling (aka Barney Stripes). The night is in aid of Lady McAdden Breast Screening Unit, a charity (affectionately known as B.U.S.T.) which is dedicated to fighting breast cancer. Supporting such a worthwhile cause is a fitting tribute to the memory of the many talented musicians who are no longer with us, many of whom succumbed to cancer or related conditions. In particular, Norman Kemp (brother of bass player Martin) who died last year from renal cancer, Mick Tucker (the Sweet's drummer) who died from leukaemia in 2002 and Lee Brilleaux (Dr. Feelgood) who died from lymphoma in 1994. Also remembered are: Brian Connolly, Les Gray, Dave Walker, Roy Morgan and Peter King along with many others who touched our lives but whose own lives were tragically cut short. So let's celebrate their lives. Dig out your platform shoes, put your watches back 30 years and re-live a time when glam rocked! All band members are giving their services free and only essential expenses are being met from ticket sale revenue. Tickets will be on general sale from 1 st September 2005 at the price of £10 with all net proceeds donated to B.U.S.T .
